Ultra Cycling
"
The ultra experience, pushing the limits." - David Glasgow
Push your limits: ride
a century, a double century, a brevet, or long-distance tour. Challenge
yourself in the Mileage Challenge.
Compete in an ultra race; qualify for the Race Across AMerica (RAAM).
See our calendar of long distance rides & ultra races and articles
on training, equipment and nutrition. The UMCA, Inc. is open to
anyone interested in long distance cycling, www.ultracycling.com.
This site has many articles about training, nutrition, psychology
of long riding, etc. A great resource for the new and old long
distance rider.

The UMCA is introducing
a new program: the Larry Schwartz Year-Rounder
Century Challenge – to encourage riders to ride (at least)
a century every month. Club centuries are the highlight of many
endurance riders’ seasons: the fun of a day on the bike
with friends and the challenge of riding 100 miles,

for and Riding a Century”)

John Marino Competition
The John Marino Competition honors the founder of the UMCA and
the Race Across AMerica. Ultra racers compete in a series of double
centuries, 12- and 24- hour races, RAAM qualifiers and the Race
Across America to determine the best ultra racers of the season.
The JMC begins with the Sebring 12 Hour (February 28) and concludes
with the ExtraDistance Brazil Challenge (Dec).
